BEIJING -- Taiwan has sent another investigation team to Manila to hold talks with the Philippine National Investigation Bureau, in the case of the fatal shooting of a fisherman on May 9th.
The team is led by Yang Wanli, the head of Taiwan’s legal body. The two sides have held closed-door discussions, but no details have been revealed yet. Philippine Justice Minister Leila De Lima said Wednesday the two sides would have face-to-face talks before a report was officially released.
At the end of May, both Taiwan and the Philippines opened parallel investigations. So far, only Taiwan has released the results of their investigation. |
